Job Title: Senior Consultant / Specialist - ServiceNow ITOM Discovery

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic ServiceNow ITOM Discovery Specialist to join our engineering team. In this role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), designing and developing tailored software solutions that enhance our enterprise system components and applications.

You will work within a dynamic, agile project environment, applying contemporary development frameworks to ensure the delivery of scalable, efficient, and highly secure software. Beyond technical execution, you will play a pivotal role in leading technical decisions, collaborating across multiple cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers to foster professional growth.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ServiceNow ITOM. Lead team decisions, provide solutions to complex technical problems for your immediate team, and contribute to key architectural decisions across multiple teams.
- ServiceNow Discovery & CMDB Management: Design, configure, and maintain robust MID Server architectures, Discovery schedules, and custom Discovery Patterns to ensure accurate automated population of Configuration Items (CIs) into the CMDB.
- Platform Quality & Best Practices: Lead the implementation of development best practices to continuously improve software quality, data normalization, CMDB health, and overall delivery timelines.
- Integrations & API Management: Architect and maintain secure integrations between ServiceNow and third-party monitoring or infrastructure tools using REST/SOAP APIs.




- Team Mentorship: Actively mentor and guide junior team members, supporting their skill development, professional growth, and code quality.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and network teams to gather requirements and translate them into robust technical specifications and automated workflows.

Professional & Technical Skills Required

- Must-Have Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in ServiceNow ITOM Discovery.
- Deep ITOM Knowledge: Strong technical proficiency in MID Server configuration, Discovery troubleshooting (credentials, probes, sensors), and building/customizing Discovery Patterns.
- Platform Development: Experience extending platform functionality using Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, and enterprise integration techniques.
- Methodologies: Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve complex infrastructure visibility and data-relationship issues within enterprise environments.

Qualifications & Additional Information

- Education: A minimum of 15 years of full-time education is mandatory (e.g., Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field).
- Location: This position is based out of our Bengaluru office.
- Certifications (Preferred): ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITOM Discovery/Event Management is highly desirable.
