To monitor the safety norms according to the prevailing policies

Key Responsibilities of Role

1.
Process Safety Management (PSM) - Ensure safe handling, processing, and storage of explosives, propellants, and hazardous chemicals - Implement and maintain: - HAZOP / HIRA / QRA studies - Job Safety Analysis (JSA) - Process Safety SOPs - Monitor critical parameters: - Temperature, static electricity, friction, impact sensitivity - Ensure explosive zoning classification compliance - Conduct blast risk assessment and mitigation plans 2.
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance - Ensure compliance with: - Explosives Rules, 2008 (PESO) - Factories Act, 1948 - MSIHC Rules - CPCB / SPCB environmental norms - Manage: - Licenses, approvals, renewals (magazines & process buildings) - Inspection readiness (PESO / Factory Inspector) - Ensure adherence to Quantity-Distance (QD) norms 3.
Operational Safety Management - Supervise safety in: - Charging, filling, assembly & packing operations - Internal transportation of explosives - Enforce: - PPE compliance (anti-static PPE, conductive footwear) - Permit to Work (PTW) system - Ensure: - Machine guarding and safety interlocks - SOP adherence 4.
Fire & Explosion Prevention - Implement fire protection systems: - Hydrant, sprinkler, deluge - Fire detection & alarm - Maintain: - Extinguishers (Class D, ABC, CO) - Control ignition hazards: - Static electricity (earthing/bonding) - Spark-proof tools - Conduct: - Building-wise fire risk assessments - Periodic explosion-based fire drills 5.
Emergency & Disaster Management - Develop & implement: - On-site Emergency Plan - Explosion/fire/chemical scenarios - Conduct: - Internal & external mock drills - Ensure: - Safe evacuation systems & assembly points - ERT (Emergency Response Team) readiness 6.
Hazard Identification & Risk Management - Conduct:



- Routine hazard identification rounds - Task-based risk assessments - Maintain: - Risk register - CAPA tracking - Analyze: - Near-miss trends and preventive actions 7.
Incident Investigation - Investigate: - Incidents, near-misses, unsafe acts - Conduct RCA using: - 5 Why, Fishbone - Ensure: - CAPA implementation - Statutory reporting compliance 8.
MIS & Reporting Management - Prepare & maintain: - Group MIS (Offline & Online) - Weekly & Monthly MIS - Submit: - Monthly Feedback Reports - Monthly Closure Reports - Ensure: - Data accuracy and timely submission 9.
PPE Management - Manage: - PPE distribution - Inventory & stock levels - PPE requisition - Ensure: - PPE compliance across plant 10.
Documentation & Compliance Systems - Maintain: - Defence & Aerospace EHS evidence folders - Statutory registers & records - Legatrix updates - Support: - Monthly ESG reporting - Ensure: - ISO and statutory record compliance 11.
Audit & ISO Management - Manage: - Internal & external audit documentation - Support: - Internal audits & MRM - Ensure compliance with: - ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 - Drive: - System improvements & documentation upgrades 12.
SafeX & Corporate Reporting - Manage: - SafeX reporting & trackers - Ensure: - Timely closure of due points - Escalate: - Non-compliances 13.
Training & Induction - Conduct: - Safety inductions (employees & contractors) - Organize: - TBTs, awareness sessions - Maintain: - Competency matrix & training records 14.




PTW & Critical Activity Control - Manage: - PTW issuance, tracking & compliance - Conduct: - Critical site safety visits - Ensure: - Strict adherence to permit conditions 15.
Operational Safety Activities - Conduct: - TBTs - Safety inspections & audits - Ensure: - Safe work practice compliance 16.
Follow-ups & Coordination - Track: - Safety action items - Ensure: - Timely closures - Coordinate: - Cross-functional teams 17.
ERP & Financial Coordination - Manage: - MRS (Material Requisition Slips) - SAP invoice bookings (EHS-related) 18.
Meetings & Communication - Maintain: - MOM (Minutes of Meeting) - Coordinate: - HSE Committee - Safety Council / AIC meetings - Track: - Action closures 19.
Safety Culture & Engagement - Organize: - Safety celebrations (Safety Week, campaigns) - Promote: - Behavioral safety (BBS) - Zero Harm / Model Safe Plant initiatives 20.
Contractor Safety Management - Ensure: - Contractor EHS compliance - Conduct: - Induction & permit issuance - Monitor: - High-risk contractor activities Key Deliverables / KPIs - 100% statutory & PESO compliance - 100% timely MIS reporting - 95% PPE compliance - 90% SafeX closure within timeline - 100% PTW compliance - Zero major fire/explosion incidents - 100% audit readiness - 100% employee safety induction coverage Skill Requirements - Solid knowledge of explosives safety & process safety - Expertise in ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 systems - Working knowledge of SafeX, Legatrix, SAP - Strong analytical, reporting & documentation skills - Excellent coordination and follow-up ability

Technical Competencies

Qualifications and Experience

B-Tech/MSc/M-Tech in Chemical/Fire & safety/Munition Technology ADIS/PDIS from RLI/CLI and State Technical Board Minimum 3 years' experience in Safety Management
