Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory regulations, including MPCB, Factory Act, and other environmental, health & safety requirements.
- Obtain and renew regulatory approvals, consents, and licenses in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and manage internal, external, and statutory audits, ensuring successful closure of observations and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and submit all mandatory safety, environmental, and statutory reports within prescribed timelines.

Operational Risk Management

- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments across all plant operations, including Melt Shop, Rolling Mill, and Finishing areas.
- Lead incident investigations through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurrence.
- Identify potential workplace hazards and proactively implement risk mitigation measures.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

- Develop, implement, and periodically review emergency response plans for fire, chemical spills, industrial accidents, and other emergency scenarios.
- Organize mock drills and emergency preparedness exercises to ensure workforce readiness and regulatory compliance.

Safety Culture & Training

- Drive a proactive safety culture by implementing and sustaining Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.
- Conduct safety induction programs for recent employees, regular toolbox talks, and specialized safety training on topics such as Hot Work, Working at Height, Confined Space Entry, Crane Operations, and Permit-to-Work systems.




- Promote employee awareness and accountability towards workplace safety.

Environmental Management

- Monitor and improve environmental performance through effective management of ETP operations, waste disposal, emissions, and pollution control systems.
- Drive initiatives focused on waste minimization, resource conservation, and energy efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and support sustainability initiatives across the plant.

Candidate Profile

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Chemical, or related discipline).
- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) is mandatory.

Experience

- 5-10 years of relevant experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) within heavy manufacturing, steel, metals, or process industries.
- Hands-on experience in statutory compliance under the MPCB, Factories Act, and other applicable EHS regulations.
- Proven track record of managing safety audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance programs.

Technical Competencies

- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System).
- Expertise in Risk Assessment, JHA, Incident Investigation, RCA, CAPA, Permit-to-Work (PTW), and emergency response management.
- Sound understanding of environmental management systems, ETP operations, waste management, and pollution control practices.
