Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineer to ensure that all construction activities and materials comply with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable IS Codes. The candidate will be responsible for implementing quality control procedures, conducting material inspections and laboratory testing, and maintaining quality documentation throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with approved work procedures, quality plans, and project specifications.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to quality standards and approved methods.
- Review and implement relevant Indian Standards (IS Codes) for civil construction works.
- Conduct and supervise field inspections and laboratory testing of construction materials.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and consultants to resolve quality-related issues.
- Prepare, review, and maintain quality records, inspection reports, and test reports.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all incoming materials meet the required quality standards before use.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Maintain calibration records of laboratory equipment and testing instruments.

Required Technical Knowledge





- Good knowledge of construction work procedures and quality control processes.
- Strong understanding of relevant IS Codes for civil engineering and material testing.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory examinations and field quality inspections.
- Knowledge of material testing, including:

- Cement
- Concrete (Slump, Cube Compressive Strength)
- Steel (Tensile/Bend Test)
- Aggregates
- Soil (Compaction, CBR, Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analysis)
- Bricks, Blocks, and Pavers
- Bitumen and Asphalt (preferred for road projects)

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 3-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for construction or infrastructure projects.

Skills Required

- Knowledge of IS Codes and construction specifications.
- Material testing and laboratory management.
- Inspection and quality documentation.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Positive communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and quality documentation.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in highways, buildings, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with QA/QC documentation, Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs).
- Experience working with NABL laboratories or third-party testing agencies will be an advantage.
