Role & responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive electrical design activities, including design calculations, preparation of drawings, bill of materials (BOM), schematics, and detailed technical instructions for the manufacturing of Vacuum Interrupters (VI) and forward-integrated MV switchgear products such as auto reclosers, sectionalizers, load break switches, etc.

2. Study, design, and implement best manufacturing practices to enhance product quality and reliability.

3. Manage the endtoend new product development process, including coordination with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to ensure seamless product development and manufacturing of prototypes.

4. Identify, address, and document corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product reliability and process robustness.

5. Conduct product validation through in-house type testing or third-party laboratory testing to ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.

6. Prepare technical specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Competencies
1.



Thorough understanding of Indian and international standards applicable to high-voltage switchgear and controlgear (IEC 62271).

2. Knowledge of Plasma Physics to understand metal arc behaviour during short-circuit current.

3. Knowledge of metallurgy, strength of materials, vacuum technology, vacuum brazing, sintering technology, and associated manufacturing and processing techniques.

4. Strong knowledge of routine and type testing of breakers, RMUs, auto reclosers, sectionalizers, and load break switches.

5. Strong expertise in design calculations related to structural systems, forces, spring design, mechanisms, linkages, and pneumatic control circuits.

6. Hands-on experience in static, energetic, vibration, shock, and seismic analysis, including verification and validation of product designs using ANSYS Workbench or equivalent simulation tools.

7. Ability to estimate raw material costs during the design phase to develop cost-optimized products.

Skills :
Metallurgy analysis, 2D, 3D modeling for FEA analysis, Electromagnetic, Electrostatic, Structural analysis using ANSYS or equivalent tool.
