Role & responsibilities

The Sales Data Analyst will be responsible for analysing sales and customer data to generate actionable business insights for the Sales Leadership team. The role will utilise AI platforms such as Claude AI and Microsoft Copilot to identify sales trends, growth and de-growth patterns, dealer/distributor performance, PJP adherence, and other key business metrics. The incumbent will proactively generate reports, dashboards, and management alerts that support timely decision-making and improve sales productivity.

1. Sales Data Analysis

- Analyse daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance across regions, branches, products, and channels.
- Identify sales trends, growth opportunities, and de-growth patterns.
- Prepare periodic business review reports for senior management.
- Analyse product-wise, territory-wise, branch-wise, and customer-wise performance.

2. Dealer & Distributor Performance Monitoring

- Track dealer and distributor sales performance against historical trends.
- Identify dealers/distributors showing continuous de-growth or abnormal sales variations.
- Generate early warning alerts for the Sales Leadership team.
- Highlight high-growth accounts that require strategic support or expansion.

3. PJP (Permanent Journey Plan) Analytics

- Monitor PJP adherence of the field sales team.
- Analyse productivity based on planned versus actual market visits.
- Identify gaps in field coverage and sales productivity.
- Generate branch-wise and region-wise PJP compliance reports.

4. AI-Driven Business Insights

- Utilise Claude AI, Microsoft Copilot, and other AI tools to analyse large datasets.




- Develop AI prompts that generate meaningful business insights and executive summaries.
- Automate routine analysis and reporting activities using AI platforms.
- Recommend corrective actions based on AI-generated insights.

5. Management Triggers & Alerts

- Proactively send management alerts on:
- Dealer/distributor de-growth
- Significant sales decline
- Product-wise performance deviation
- Territory underperformance
- Inactive accounts
- Low PJP adherence
- Emerging market trends
- Exceptional growth opportunities

- Provide concise recommendations along with each trigger.

6. Dashboard & Reporting

- Develop and maintain MIS dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management dashboards.
- Present insights in an easy-to-understand visual format.

7. Data Accuracy & Governance

- Validate sales data received from CRM, ERP, and other business systems.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of reports.
- Maintain historical sales databases for trend analysis.

8. Business Support

- Support Sales Directors, NSHs, RSMs, and Business Heads with ad hoc analysis.
- Assist in preparing business review presentations.
- Provide analytical support for sales planning, forecasting, and target setting.

Preferred candidate profile

Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, Advanced Formulas).
- Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools.
- Working knowledge of AI platforms such as Claude AI, Microsoft Copilot.
- Ability to interpret large datasets and convert them into business recommendations.
