About the Role

Digamber Capfin Limited is looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our engineering team in Bangalore. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and APIs that support business-critical lending and financial technology workflows. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in backend development, clean coding practices, database design, API development, debugging, and production support. The role requires ownership of assigned modules, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and contribution to high-quality, secure, and reliable software delivery. Experience in fintech, lending, banking, NBFC, LOS/LMS, payments, or regulated financial systems will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
- Own assigned modules end-to-end, including requirement understanding, development, testing support, deployment, and production issue resolution.
- Build secure, scalable, and reliable APIs for lending and financial workflows.
- Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL, including schema design, query writing, and performance optimization.
- Participate in technical discussions,



code reviews, and design reviews.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
- Debug and resolve application issues, production defects, performance issues, and data inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Business, and Compliance teams for timely and quality delivery.
- Contribute to release stability, monitoring, logging, observability, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11/17.
- Good experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate.
- Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL/MySQL, database design, and query optimization.
- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD, and Agile development practices.
- Good understanding of unit testing using JUnit/Mockito.
- Robust debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.

Good to Have

- Experience in fintech, lending, banking, NBFC, LOS/LMS, collections, payments, or compliance-heavy systems.
- Exposure to AWS/cloud services, Docker, Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, audit logs, and API security.
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or similar.
