Automation Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Automation Test Engineer with strong knowledge of Java programming, SQL, API testing, and automation frameworks. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts, validating APIs, writing complex SQL queries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality.

Roles & Responsibilities

Automation Testing

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts.
- Build reusable automation frameworks using Java.
- Execute regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end test suites.
- Analyze test results and report defects with proper documentation.
- Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to understand requirements.

Java Development Knowledge

- Robust understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Knowledge of Java constructors and constructor types.
- Default Constructor
- Parameterized Constructor
- Copy Constructor (conceptual)

- Experience with Collections, Exception Handling, Strings, and Java 8 features.

SQL & Database Testing

- Write and execute SQL queries for data validation.
- Strong understanding of:
- Joins (Inner, Left, Right, Full Outer, Self Join)
- Union vs Union All
- Aggregation functions and subqueries.

- Ability to write queries for business validation scenarios such as:

- Finding highest marks.
- Retrieving duplicate records.
- Data reconciliation checks.

API Testing

- Experience in REST API testing.
- Strong understanding of:
- Authentication and Authorization.
- Token generation mechanisms.
- OAuth 2.0, Bearer Token,



JWT.
- Request and Response validation.

- Experience using Postman, Swagger, Rest Assured, or similar tools.

Test Planning & Estimation

- Analyze requirements and provide effort estimations.
- Participate in sprint planning and estimation discussions.
- Prepare and review:
- Test Plan
- Test Strategy
- Test Cases
- Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)
- Defect Reports
- Test Summary Reports

Real-Time Project Activities

- Requirement analysis and impact assessment.
- Effort estimation for automation and testing activities.
- Communication with stakeholders regarding risks and timelines.
- Documentation and status reporting.

- Find the second highest value in an array.
- Find the second highest string based on length.
- If multiple strings have the same length, return the second occurrence based on business rules.
- String manipulation and collection-based problems.
- SQL query optimization scenarios.
