SDE II (Java)

Core Responsibilities

Service Health & Reliability

- Maintain service uptime 99.9% across all owned microservices
- Keep API SLA within 100 ms at P95; own monitoring dashboards and alerting thresholds
- Participate in on-call rotations and drive incident reduction through RCA and preventive measures

Engineering Delivery

- Develop, ship, and maintain features end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Ensure production quality: zero critical bugs; maintain Sonar quality gate compliance
- Design and own microservices within the Pre-buy SAAS POD
- Write clean, testable, well-documented code; maintain > 80% unit test coverage on new

code

AI-First & Agentic Development

- Default to AI-assisted development use LLM-powered tooling (Copilot, Cursor, etc.) for

code generation, review, and debugging

- Build and integrate agentic workflows where appropriate: auto-remediation,



AI-driven test

generation, intelligent alerting

- Continuously evaluate new AI/ML tooling and advocate adoption of high-ROI practices within the

team

- Contribute to internal guidelines for secure, reliable use of AI-generated code

Business Metrics

- Develop, monitor, and continuously optimise business metrics owned by the POD
- Align engineering decisions with product KPIs (conversion, retention, cost efficiency)

Team & Culture

- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing
- Participate actively in design and code review processes; uphold team quality standards
