Role & responsibilities
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Proposal Writer to create clear, accurate, and compelling technical documents and business proposals. The candidate will work closely with subject matter experts, project managers, and business development teams to prepare technical documentation, proposals, RFP responses, and other written materials.
Key Responsibilities
Write, edit, and maintain technical documentation, user guides, manuals, and process documents.
Prepare proposals, RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, and capability statements.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and business teams to gather technical information.
Ensure documents are transparent, concise, and easy to understand for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Review and edit content to maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality.
Maintain proposal templates, document libraries, and knowledge repositories.
- Ensure all documents follow company standards, branding, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct research to support proposal development and technical documentation.
- Manage multiple documentation and proposal deadlines effectively.
Required Skills
Strong technical writing and proposal writing skills
Excellent grammar, editing, and proofreading abilities
Experience with RFP, RFQ, and proposal development
Ability to understand technical concepts and explain them clearly
Good research and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Tools & Technologies (Preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Document management tools
- Collaboration tools such as SharePoint or Confluence
- Experience with proposal management tools is a plus
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in technical writing or proposal writing
Experience working with technical teams or IT projects is preferred
Experience writing government or federal proposals
Knowledge of technical documentation standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
