Lead and oversee the Quality Control (testing operations) of Medium Voltage Air Insulated Switchgear Panels, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead and coordinate testing activities for MV AIS panels (typically 3.3kV to 36kV range)
- Technical Leadership: Review and approve test procedures and protocols
- Technical Leadership: Analyze test results and prepare comprehensive test reports
- Technical Leadership: Troubleshoot complex technical issues during testing phases
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of test engineers and technicians
- Team Management: Allocate resources and schedule testing activities
- Team Management: Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs
- Team Management: Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and procedures
- Team Management: Achieve optimum productivity with maintaining high spirit within the team during pressure situations.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and other relevant standards
- Quality Assurance: Maintain testing equipment calibration and accuracy
- Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control measures
- Quality Assurance: Review and validate test documentation
- Quality Assurance: Capture various data in FRT and FAT on monthly basis and release the KPI
- Quality Assurance: Collect data/ evidence of errors and give feedback to concern departments to improve inputs, drawings, vendor workmanships.
- Quality Assurance: Control after dispatch NCC, Site complaints within set limits.
- Quality Assurance: Work on various improvement projects in collaboration with CFT.
- Project Management:
Coordinate with project managers on testing schedules
- Project Management: Monitor testing progress and timeline adherence
- Project Management: Manage testing budget and resources
- Project Management: Interface with customers during witness testing
- Audits: Participate in internal ISO audits, EHS audits, EnMS audits, External ISO audits, Factory approvals audits
- Safety: Maintain EHS on shopfloor during day-to-day activities.
- Safety: Maintain records of safety trainings to testing engineer team.
- Safety: Maintain records of documentation for service providers.
- Safety: Ensure compliance of HIRA, PTW, TBT and LMRA processes.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
Additional certifications in switchgear testing preferred
Experience
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in MV switchgear testing
3-5 years in a leadership role
Strong background in electrical power distribution systems
Technical Skills
Expertise in switchgear testing procedures and protocols
Proficiency in various testing equipment and tools
Knowledge of relevant standards (IEC 62271, IEEE C37 series)
Understanding of protection relay systems and control schemes
