Position Overview:
KleisTech is seeking a skilled Database Administration Practitioner to provide comprehensive support for mainframe IMS and Db2 environments. In this role, you will work closely with application development and maintenance teams to design, implement, and maintain databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. You will also provide 24/7 production support, contributing to the smooth operation of our critical IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mainframe IMS and Db2 Database Administration support for application development and maintenance teams.
- Assist Data Administrators with application database design and implementation.
- Maintain database availability and performance using IMS and Db2 utilities.
- Perform repartitioning of IMS databases and HALDB performance tuning.
- Debug Db2 and IMS-related issues, ensuring swift problem resolution.
- Provide 24/7 production support for database-related issues.
- Support Db2 application functions, including performance tuning and SQL optimization.
Skills Required:
- 6+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in IMS DBA and DC.
- Proficiency in IMS utilities and repartitioning of IMS databases.
- Experience in Db2 performance tuning and debugging.
- Familiarity with HALDB and mainframe database utilities (IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, etc.).
- Experience in Agile development on the mainframe and Native SQL/Java Stored procedures.
Skills Preferred:
- 3+ years of Db2 DBA experience, particularly with versions 9-12 of mainframe Db2 software.
- Experience with DB2 utilities (IBM, BMC, or CA), Omegamon for DB2, and BMC NGT utilities.
- Familiarity with parallel sysplex and data sharing, MQ.Series, and Websphere PureQuery DB2 Connect.
- Experience with IDAA/IFL and database design.
Education Required:
- Bachelor s Degree in Engineering (B.E., B.Tech) or related field.
