Job SummaryThe Indian Commi-1 is responsible for assisting the Chef de Partie (Indian Section) in the preparation and cooking of authentic Indian dishes. The role requires knowledge of Indian cuisine, food preparation techniques, and kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.

- Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook Indian dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of curries, gravies, biryanis, rice dishes, dals, vegetables, and Indian starters.
- Perform daily mise en place to ensure readiness for service.
- Prepare vegetables, meats, seafood, and other ingredients for cooking.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and portion sizes.
- Support the CDP during lunch, dinner, and banquet operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the CDP.




- Properly store food items and minimize wastage.
- Assist in receiving and checking kitchen supplies when required.
- Work closely with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service.
- Required SkillsGood knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Ability to prepare Indian gravies, curries, biryanis, and regional dishes.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced workplace.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- QualificationsDiploma or Certificate in Hotel Management/Culinary Arts is preferred.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Commi-1 or Commis I in the Indian kitchen of a hotel, restaurant, resort, or cloud kitchen.
