Key Responsibilities 1. Drafting & Design • Prepare 2D/3D drawings using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or PDMS • Develop: General Arrangement (GA) drawings o Piping layouts & isometrics o Equipment layouts o Fabrication drawings 2. Engineering Support • Work closely with mechanical engineers to convert design concepts into drawings • Interpret P&IDs; (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) • Ensure drawings meet project specifications and standards 3. Documentation & Revisions • Maintain drawing registers and document control • Update drawings based on site feedback or engineering changes • Prepare “as-built” drawings after project completion 4. Coordination • Coordinate with: o Civil, electrical,
and instrumentation teams o Procurement team for equipment details o Site engineers during construction phase 5. Standards & Compliance • Follow international codes such as: o ASME o ISO • Ensure accuracy, safety, and quality in drawings Required Skills Technical Skills • Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) • Knowledge of: o Mechanical components & systems o Piping design and layouts o Industrial standards and symbols Soft Skills • Attention to detail • Positive communication • Time management • Ability to work under project deadlines
