The Land Surveyor & Quality Engineer is responsible for carrying out accurate land surveys, setting out construction works, verifying project dimensions, and ensuring that all construction activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes. The role involves coordinating with project engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure precision in surveying and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Key ResponsibilitiesLand SurveyingConduct topographical, boundary, route, and construction surveys.
- Perform setting out for buildings, roads, drainage, pipelines, and other civil works.
- Establish and verify horizontal and vertical control points.
- Operate Total Station, Auto Level, DGPS/GPS, and other surveying equipment.
- Prepare survey reports, contour maps, and as-built drawings.
- Verify project coordinates, levels, alignments, and dimensions.
- Monitor settlement, deformation, and structural movements where required.
- Maintain calibration records and proper handling of survey instruments.
- Coordinate with design and project teams to resolve surveying issues.
- Ensure survey data accuracy before execution of construction activities.
- Quality EngineeringImplement Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures.
- Inspect civil works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain Inspection Request (IR) and Material Inspection Request (MIR) documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship quality.
- Verify incoming materials and ensure compliance with approved specifications.
- Coordinate field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
- Review test reports and maintain quality documentation.
- Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in internal and client quality inspections.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, project quality plans, and client requirements.
- Maintain records of inspections, checklists, test reports, and quality documentation.
- Required QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Survey Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Land Surveying is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is preferred.
- Experience3–8 years of experience in construction, infrastructure, highways, industrial, or building projects.
- Experience in both land surveying and quality control is preferred.
