Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Mechanical Fitter to support our production and quality operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mechanical assembly, supporting daily production tasks, and assisting in quality checks. Candidates should have a solid understanding of technical drawings, fitting tools, and basic inspection procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Fitting & Assembly
- Perform mechanical fitting and assembly of components and sub-assemblies as per engineering specifications.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings for accurate assembly.
- Ensure proper alignment and fitment of parts during the assembly process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, work area, and equipment.
Production Support
- Assist in planning and executing daily production activities in coordination with the production team.
- Address technical issues during assembly and contribute to improving operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance to junior team members and participate in basic technical training activities.
Quality Assistance
- Use standard measuring instruments (e.g., Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge) to check component accuracy.
- Support in conducting in-process and final quality inspections.
- Maintain quality documentation and assist with audits and compliance as needed.
- Collaborate with the quality team on identifying and resolving non-conformities.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in mechanical fitting techniques and basic machining operations.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as 5S, 7 QC Tools, and basic root cause analysis.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T; and quality standards.
- Solid teamwork, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Background
- Experience working in a precision manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
- Exposure to ISO-certified production and quality systems.
- Willingness to adapt to current methods and continuous improvement practices.
