Investment Banking Analyst – Startup Focus

Location: Mumbai | Experience Required: 6 months – 1 year

Department: Investment Banking | Reports to: Head Investment Banking

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a smart, energetic Investment Banking Analyst who thrives on connecting with founders and CXOs, understands the startup ecosystem, and can help drive our deal pipeline forward. This role is client-facing and hands-on, covering the full lifecycle—from lead generation and pitching to research, modeling, and execution support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Business Development & Client Origination
- Identify and qualify high-potential startup and growth-stage companies
- Research sectors, source leads, and initiate contact with founders/CXOs
- Support senior bankers in crafting customized pitchbooks and teasers
- Join client meetings and assist in post-pitch follow-ups
- Deal Marketing & Execution Support
- Prepare investment decks, teasers, and financial snapshots
- Assist in marketing mandates to institutional investors or acquirers
- Support documentation
- Research & Financial Analysis
- Conduct market scans, peer analysis, and valuation comps
- Build or update basic financial models and dashboards
- CRM, Reporting & Process Management
- Maintain updated records in CRM systems




- Track progress of mandates, reporting weekly/monthly to leadership

What We’re Looking For:

- Education: Bachelor’s or MBA in Finance (preferred); CA, CFA Level I a plus
- Experience: 6 months to 1 year in investment banking, startup fundraising, VC/PE, or corporate finance
- Start-up Mindset: Prior exposure to startup fundraising, pitch decks, or ecosystem players
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication; confident in founder/investor-facing roles
- Tools: Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with CRM tools is a plus
- Work Style: Self-starter with robust ownership, structured thinking, and ability to work under tight timelines
