The School Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and school-related activities, ensuring a secure, punctual, and comfortable journey while following all traffic laws and school policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and other school activities
- Follow assigned routes and schedules
- Ensure students board and exit the vehicle safely
- Maintain order and discipline on the vehicle
- Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections before and after trips
- Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents promptly
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and school policies
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license (appropriate class for school vehicle)
- Clean driving record
- Previous driving experience preferred
- Knowledge of traffic laws and road safety practices
- Ability to manage and supervise children responsibly
- Physically fit and able to assist students when needed
- Positive communication and interpersonal skills
- Background check and medical clearance (as required)
Working Conditions
- Morning and afternoon shifts, with possible additional hours for school events
- Driving in various weather conditions
- Responsibility for student safety at all times
