Summary:
The ESRI Desktop Developer plays a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust desktop and web-based GIS applications using the ESRI ArcGIS platform. This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise in GIS technologies and up-to-date web development practices. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver interactive, scalable, and user-centric applications that support enterprise-level geospatial workflows. With a focus on integration, performance, and usability, this role is essential to advancing digital mapping solutions and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain desktop and web GIS applications using ESRI’s ArcGIS platform and ArcGIS API for JavaScript
- Develop and implement responsive, intuitive user interfaces that enhance end-user experience
- Integrate GIS data and services into applications to ensure seamless functionality and optimal performance
- Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions
- Conduct comprehensive testing, debugging, and performance optimization of applications
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and system manuals
- Provide support for AMS systems with demonstrated experience in ESRI web development environments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, or a related field
- 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in web application development with a focus on ESRI ArcGIS technologies
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ESRI’s ArcGIS API for JavaScript
- Mandatory experience with Python scripting for GIS automation and tool development
- Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, TypeScript, Angular, or Vue
- Proven track record in integrating GIS services and data into web applications
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative environment
