Job Summary: The Purchase Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services for the company. This includes strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of quality products, and managing vendor relationships to achieve the company's operational and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
- Identify potential suppliers, evaluate offers, and negotiate contracts.
- Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual terms and quality standards.
- Resolve any supplier issues and discrepancies.
Cost Management:
- Manage the procurement budget effectively.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct regular price comparisons to ensure the company is obtaining the best possible price.
Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with inventory control to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs.
- Oversee inventory replenishment and manage stock levels to avoid shortages or overstock.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular quality control audits of suppliers and products.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks through effective risk management strategies.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, including spend analysis and savings achieved.
- Utilize data analytics to inform and support purchasing decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years or above experience in procurement, purchasing,
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Robust understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgment.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Candidates with Knowledge of imports procedure will be preferred
- Other Admin work as may be required on daily basis
