Job Description: A Project Manager in a steel company directs capital projects, plant expansions, and structural fabrication or erection. - Engineering Coordination: Oversee basic and detailed engineering across civil, structural, mechanical, and automation disciplines. Review and approve engineering drawings and specifications. [1]
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) and safety/environmental regulations across all manufacturing and installation phases. [1, 2]

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management (B.E./B.Tech).
- Experience: Typically 10+ years of project management experience within a steel manufacturing plant, structural steel fabrication facility, or heavy industrial construction setting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced ability to read and interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and fabrication blueprints. (Knowledge of Tekla Structures or AutoCAD is highly advantageous for detailing-focused roles).
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
