Job Description: An Assistant Manager/Shift Engineer in a steel company manages daily production, maintenance, and safety within a specific shift. They optimize machinery, minimize downtime, and oversee personnel to meet production targets while ensuring compliance with technical standards (e.g., in blast furnaces, mills) and HSE norms. Key Responsibilities:

- Production Management: Operates machinery, monitors furnace temperatures and parameters, and ensures high-quality production of steel products (coils, billets).
- Maintenance: Executes planned maintenance (PPM) and conducts rapid troubleshooting of breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime.
- Team Leadership: Manages shift staff, assigns daily tasks, monitors attendance, and ensures compliance with safety protocols.
- Reporting & Reporting: Prepares daily reports on production, maintenance logs, and raw material consumption.
- Optimization: Identifies opportunities to increase productivity, improve process cycle times, and improve plant efficiency.





Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Experience: 7+ years in steel plant operations or heavy manufacturing, with specific knowledge of galvanizing, cold rolling, or smelting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SAP, PLC, and TPM tools.
- Competencies: Robust leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
