About the role
The General Manager (Small Org) is responsible for the P&L; for an organization. This senior leadership role manages multiple teams, ensures alignment with functional and corporate goals, and drives performance across all areas of responsibility. The General Manager plays a key role in translating strategy into action, optimizing operations, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. This job profile is intended for senior leaders that support the mid to long-term (3–5 years) strategy development for their functional area, and have ownership of the short to mid-term (1–3 years) execution of functional strategy/operational direction. Requires ability to communicate with and influence executive leadership. Typically manage multiple teams. Support the development of long-term strategic plans and lead the execution of short to mid-term operational goals. Manage multiple teams across various functions, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of business objectives. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with company policies and standards. Monitor business performance and implement improvements to enhance productivity and profitability. Lead budgeting, forecasting,



and resource planning activities. Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Represent the business unit in internal leadership forums and contribute to broader organizational initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. Drive change management and process improvement initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications
Typically a university degree (or equivalent work experience) and 10+ years of relevant work experience are minimally required to be able to manage and coordinate one or more senior expert-level teams. Proven experience in managing business operations within small organizations or departments. Solid leadership and team management skills with the ability to lead through influence and collaboration. Solid understanding of business operations, financial management, and strategic planning. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience in driving operational efficiency and leading transformation initiatives. Advanced degree in business, engineering, or a related field is a plus. High ethical standards and commitment to organizational values.
