Position Title : QA ManagerThe Area : The Morningstar Indexes Team leverages its expertise in equity research, manager research, asset allocation, and portfolio construction to create innovative investment solutions. It uses Morningstar's intellectual property to create indexes that empower investors to achieve their goals at every stage of the investment process, including market monitoring, benchmarking, and asset allocation. The unit offers a broad suite of global equity, fixed income, commodity, and asset allocation indexes.The Role We are looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead quality engineering initiatives across Morningstar Indexes applications. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the overall quality strategy, test automation vision, and quality engineering practices across multiple teams and products. You will partner closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Architects, and Business Stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in quality engineering with proven leadership skills to build high-performing QA teams, drive automation adoption, and establish a quality-first culture.Responsibilities :- Define and drive the overall QA and Quality Engineering strategy across multiple applications, products, and delivery teams.- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA engineers and QA automation engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.- Establish quality standards, testing processes, metrics, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent product quality.- Drive automation-first testing practices and oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable automation frameworks.- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Business teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.- Own test planning, estimation, execution strategy, release readiness, and quality sign-offs across multiple initiatives.- Develop and monitor quality KPIs, including test coverage,



automation effectiveness, defect leakage, release quality, and production stability.- Ensure robust testing coverage across UI, API, database, integration, and end-to-end workflows.- Lead root cause analysis of production issues and drive preventative quality improvements.- Collaborate with architects and engineering leaders to improve application testability, observability, and reliability.- Drive adoption of modern testing practices including shift-left testing, continuous testing, risk-based testing, and AI-assisted quality engineering.- Review and optimize QA resource allocation, priorities, and delivery commitments across multiple projects and squads.- Act as the primary quality stakeholder for audits, compliance reviews, and leadership reporting.- Support organizational initiatives related to DevOps, CI/CD, cloud migration, platform modernization, and operational excellence.- Build and maintain strong relationships with technology leaders and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality objectives.Experience - 10+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering with at least 3+ years in a QA leadership or management role.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.- Proven experience leading distributed QA teams in Agile environments.- Demonstrated success in driving enterprise-wide test automation and quality transformation initiatives.Technical Skills:- Strong experience designing and managing enterprise-scale automation frameworks.- Hands-on knowledge of Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured,



or similar automation technologies.- Strong programming experience in Java and working knowledge of Python.- Expertise in API, database, integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies.- Strong SQL skills for data validation and complex data analysis.- Deep understanding of software testing principles, quality engineering practices, and SDLC methodologies.- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.- Experience working with Git-based source control and modern software delivery practices.- Good understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.- Experience establishing quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.- Knowledge of test environment management, service virtualization, and test data management practices.Nice to Have:- Experience in Financial Services, Capital Markets, Asset Management, or Indexes domains.- Exposure to performance, scalability testing practices.- Experience implementing AI-powered testing solutions, autonomous testing tools, or AI-assisted development workflows.- Experience leading quality transformation initiatives within large-scale enterprise organizations.Leadership & Soft Skills:- Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills.- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication abilities.- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive quality adoption across engineering organizations.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.- Ability to balance strategic planning with tactical execution.- Experience managing multiple priorities in a rapid-paced environment.- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and collaboration skills.- Passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and building a quality-first culture.- Excellent understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.EOE Statement: Morningstar is an equal opportunity employer.
