We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Engineer responsible for ensuring product quality in precision-machined aerospace and defence components. The role involves in-process inspection, final inspection, documentation, and continuous improvement to meet stringent industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform in-process and final inspection of precision components as per drawings and specifications
Handle First Piece Inspection (FPI) / First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation
Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and specifications accurately
Use and maintain measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, VMM, etc.)
Prepare and review Inspection Reports, Control Plans, and Quality Documents
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and implement corrective actions
Monitor rejection, rework, and customer complaints
Coordinate with production, design, and suppliers for quality improvements
Support internal and external audits
Maintain traceability and documentation as per aerospace, defence & Company standards.
Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments
Understanding of aerospace quality standards (AS9100 preferred)
Problem-solving skills using tools like 7 QC tools, 8D, CAPA
Valuable communication and documentation skills
Attention to detail and quality mindset
Qualification:
B.TECH / M.TECH in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
4 - 8 years in precision machining / aerospace / defence manufacturing
Experience in CNC/VMC components inspection preferred
Preferred Knowledge:
Exposure to VMM & CMM operation & reports
Knowledge of surface finish, material standards, heat treatment processes
Experience in handling customer audits (DRDO etc.)
