A milling operator's job duties include:
Operating machinery A milling operator runs and monitors machines that perform tasks like milling, cutting, drilling, shaping, and polishing materials.
Adjusting settings A milling operator adjusts the speed, feed, and settings of the machines. They may also change tools and parts when needed.
Checking quality A milling operator checks the quality and accuracy of the products and fixes any errors or defects.
Following safety rules A milling operator wears protective clothing and equipment and follows safety rules and regulations.




Performing maintenance A milling operator performs routine maintenance on the equipment and machinery. They may also perform minor servicing and maintenance, or refer major problems to a supervisor.
Interpreting blueprints A milling operator studies job orders and interprets blueprints to determine machining operations.
