• Container platforms (Kubernetes and container runtimes)
• Base container images and hardened OS golden images
Drive standardization and consolidation of images to reduce sprawl, cost, and risk.
Own the image lifecycle : design, build, hardening, scanning, release cadence, deprecation, and end‑of‑life.
Golden Image Engineering & Governance
Lead the creation and maintenance of secure, compliant OS golden images (Linux and Windows).
Ensure images align with CIS benchmarks,
regulatory requirements, and internal security standards.
Establish governance models for:
• Exceptions and deviations

• Regional or regulatory variants
Partner with Security to ensure policy‑driven enforcement without blocking developer velocity.
Container Platform & Image Factory Leadership
Own the container image factory :
• Base images

• Promotion workflows (dev → release candidate → production)
Integrate vulnerability and configuration scanning into CI/CD pipelines using approved enterprise tools.
Balance security gates vs. pipeline performance , ensuring scalable and non‑intrusive controls.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
Partner with InfoSec, GRC, and Audit teams to:
• Embed “secure by default” controls into images and platforms
• Support audits, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews
• Ensure continuous visibility into vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and emerging threats.
Drive remediation strategies for aging images and zero‑day risks.
Engineering Leadership & People Management
Build, mentor, and lead high‑performing platform engineering teams.
Set clear ownership models and succession planning for critical platform components.
Foster a culture of automation, reliability, documentation, and operational excellence.
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
Act as the single point of accountability for container and image platforms.
Communicate roadmap, risks, and trade‑offs to senior technology and security leadership.
Influence platform adoption across application, data, and product engineering teams globally.
Required Qualifications
Experience
• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or cloud engineering
• 5+ years in senior technical leadership roles managing managers and senior engineers

• Vulnerability and configuration scanning concepts
• CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and images
• Cloud‑native and hybrid infrastructure architectures
Ability to evaluate trade‑offs between security, performance, and developer experience.
Leadership & Communication
Executive‑level communication skills with the ability to influence without authority.
Experience driving enterprise‑wide standards and adoption.
Solid decision‑making skills in ambiguous, high‑impact situations.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
