Job Summary
The Cloud Operations Center Engineer (Mid‑Level) is responsible for stable, secure, and productive operations of Wacker’s cloud platforms across a multi‑cloud environment. The role focuses on L2/L3 operational support, platform reliability, automation enablement, and continuous optimization, ensuring cloud services meet SLA, security, and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Cloud Operations & Service Stability
• Operate and support cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Azure China/21Vianet, Oracle OCI – as applicable to Wacker scope).
• Ensure availability, performance, and reliability of cloud services through proactive monitoring and operational controls.
• Support BAU cloud operations aligned with agreed SLAs and governance standards.

Incident, Problem & Change Management
• Handle L2/L3 cloud incidents and service requests, including troubleshooting of compute, storage, networking, and platform services.
• Participate in major incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Execute and support cloud change activities (patching, configuration changes, upgrades) following approved change processes.

Automation & Operational Efficiency
• Support and enhance infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform,



Ansible, or native cloud automation services.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization.
• Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to align operational practices.

Security, Governance & Compliance
• Ensure cloud operations adhere to Wacker security, compliance, and governance policies.
• Support access management, logging, monitoring, and audit requirements for cloud services.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and evidence for audits and reviews.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Work closely with application teams, database teams, network, security, and ITSM functions to resolve cross‑tower issues.
• Contribute to cloud service optimization, cost awareness, and capacity planning discussions.
• Mentor junior cloud engineers and support knowledge transfer within the GCC.

Skill Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure operations or platform support roles.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Oracle OCI (multi‑cloud exposure preferred).
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, security basics, monitoring, and cost management.
• Experience with automation / IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM, etc.).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Ability to operate in on‑call or shift‑based models if required.
