Job Summary
Network Specialist: L2 Network Engineers provide intermediate technical support, managing, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs) escalated from L1 support. They ensure high network availability through proactive monitoring, implementing routine changes, optimizing performance (QoS, routing), and maintaining documentation (LLDs, SOPs). They require strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.

Key Responsibilities
Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Resolving complex network connectivity issues (LAN/WAN) escalated from L1, including WAN outages and VLAN problems.
• Network Configuration & Maintenance: Configuring and deploying network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto) and performing routine upgrades to firmware and infrastructure.
• Monitoring & Optimization: Monitoring network performance using tools like SolarWinds or Nagios to identify and rectify bottlenecks, high bandwidth utilization, or security threats.
• Security Implementation: Applying firewall policies,



maintaining VPN access, managing NAT, and enforcing security protocols.
• Documentation: Updating network diagrams, maintaining inventory records, and creating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Collaboration: Coordinating with ISPs, vendors, and internal teams for installations, troubleshooting, and scheduled maintenance.

Skill Requirements
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching (VLANs, STP, RSTP), and Catalyst Center, SD-WAN.
• Experience: Typically, 3+ years in network engineering or IT support.
• Tools: Proficient with network diagnostics tools (Wireshark, SNMP) and monitoring platforms.
• Soft Skills: Robust problem-solving, communication, and multitasking abilities.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience/certifications (e.g., Often require or strongly prefer Cisco CCNA or CCNP).

Other Requirements
Standard Support Model: Weekday coverage during standard business hours.
• Flexible to work 24x7 Shift Support Model: Rotational shifts (night, weekend, and holiday coverage) as per site/business need.
• Flexible working during weekend in case any requirement.
