Job Summary
Mainframe Lead
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Modernization Lead to drive strategic migration and modernization initiatives from legacy CA Technologies platforms to contemporary IBM enterprise automation and operational management solutions. The role focuses on transforming large-scale insurance mainframe ecosystems into resilient, automated, and observable platforms.

Enterprise Operations Management & Automation frameworks

Mainframe Modernization
Lead modernization and migration initiatives for legacy CA Technologies platforms.
Define modernization roadmaps for report archival, operational automation, and monitoring systems.
Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and application teams to deliver transformation programs.

CA View / CA Deliver Transformation
Assess existing CA View repositories, SAR databases, retention policies, and report distribution workflows.
Define migration strategies including archival conversion, metadata mapping, indexing, and retention transformation.

CA Vision Modernization
Assess and modernize CA Vision applications and reporting frameworks.
Support migration to IBM-based monitoring and operational platforms.





IBM Automation & Operations
Implement automation and monitoring solutions using:
IBM Tivoli
IBM OMEGAMON
IBM TOM
IBM Z System Automation
Develop automation workflows and operational tooling using REXX.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and mentor a team of mainframe developers in designing, developing, and implementing mainframe applications.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical expertise to propose solutions.
3. Perform code reviews, ensure best practices, and maintain coding standards within the team.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in mainframe applications in a timely manner.
5. Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mainframe applications with other systems.
6. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to mainframe development.

Skill Requirements
1. Strong expertise in mainframe technologies such as cobol, db2, vsam, jcl, and mainframe cics.
2. Proficient in debugging, performance tuning, and optimization of mainframe applications.
3. Solid understanding of end-to-end mainframe development lifecycle.
4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
5. Strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively lead a technical team.

Additional Skills
REXX scripting and mainframe workflow automation
Syncsort / DFSORT expertise
Strong operational automation and modernization experience

Other Requirements
Certifications in Mainframe technologies or leadership certifications are a plus.
