Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Data Engineer to join our Integration team in the Data Analytics Product Area. This role plays a key part in designing, developing, and supporting the data pipelines that power insights and operations across Swiss Re's finance division.
You'll work on end-to-end data engineering solutions, build data pipelines, create data models, and integrate data from a variety of sources into our enterprise data platform using technologies such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Design and implement data pipelines and models across multiple relational databases
- Develop data integration solutions using REST/SOAP APIs and event-based architectures
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a trusted data expert
- Collaborate with product owners and team leads to improve business processes and architecture
- Apply Agile and Dev Ops practices throughout development and deployment cycles
- Ensure documentation, customer communication, and timely delivery of technical solutions
About the Team
You'll be part of a globally distributed Integration team, working with a Product Owner based in Bangalore.
The team focuses on delivering innovative integration solutions for Finance using a lake house architecture. Python and PySpark are the primary languages used for large-scale data processing, with a focus on modern cloud services.
About You
We are looking for someone who is technically strong, collaborative, and motivated to keep learning.
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience in data engineering
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and Data Lake
- Strong understanding of relational databases like Oracle, Azure SQL, or Postgres
- Experience with API integration (REST/SOAP) and event-based systems
- Solid problem-solving and communication skills
- Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
- A desire to continuously upskill and stay current with emerging technologies
