Freight Forwarding Executive
Job Summary
The Freight Forwarding Executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing domestic and international freight movements by sea, air, and road. The role ensures timely shipment execution, carrier coordination, documentation, customs support, freight cost optimization, and end-to-end visibility of cargo movement while maintaining compliance with international trade regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesFreight Operations
- Coordinate international and domestic shipments via Ocean, Air, Road, and Multimodal transport.
- Book cargo with shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and transport providers.
- Plan shipment schedules to meet customer and project delivery timelines.
- Track cargo from origin to final destination and provide regular status updates.
- Monitor vessel schedules, ETD/ETA, transshipment, and delivery performance.
- Coordinate FCL, LCL, Breakbulk, RoRo, Project Cargo, and ODC shipments.
Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- Shipping Lines
- Airlines
- Freight Forwarders
- Customs House Agents (CHA)
- Transporters
- Warehouses
- Ports and Terminals
- Arrange cargo pickup, stuffing, transportation, and final delivery.
- Resolve shipment delays, damaged cargo, or documentation discrepancies.
Customer & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment status.
- Obtain freight quotations and negotiate competitive freight rates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, freight agents, and logistics partners.
- Handle customer queries and resolve logistics issues promptly.
Cost Control & Compliance
- Monitor freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Incoterms 2020, customs regulations, and international trade requirements.
- Minimize detention, demurrage, and storage charges.
- Verify freight invoices and coordinate with Finance for payments.
Reporting
- Maintain shipment records and logistics documentation.
- Prepare freight reports, shipment status reports, KPI dashboards, and MIS.
- Analyze carrier performance and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certification in International Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in Freight Forwarding, International Logistics, Shipping Operations, or Supply Chain.
- Experience handling international import/export shipments and project cargo is preferred.

Pay: ₹12,551.09 - ₹47,222.14 per month
