Job Purpose:
To manage day-to-day store operations including inventory handling, order processing, and dispatch, while also supporting sales by taking customer orders over phone and assisting walk-in customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Order Handling
- Receive and process customer orders over phone calls
- Provide information to customers on product availability, pricing, and delivery timelines
- Attend to walk-in customers and assist with product selection
- Maintain a record of orders received and follow up on pending orders
- Coordinate with customers for delivery schedules and payment collection
Store & Inventory Management
- Receive incoming goods (inward), verify quantities against invoices/purchase orders, and check for damages or discrepancies
- Update stock records/inventory register accurately
- Arrange and store goods systematically in the store for easy retrieval
- Monitor stock levels and inform management about low stock or reorder requirements
- Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile with records
Packing & Dispatch
- Pack goods as per order specifications, ensuring proper packaging to prevent damage during transit
- Prepare dispatch documents (delivery challan, invoice, packing list)
- Coordinate with transporters/delivery personnel for outward movement of goods
- Ensure timely dispatch of goods as per order commitments
- Maintain records of outward goods (dispatch register)
General
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store/warehouse
- Ensure safety protocols are followed while handling goods
- Report any stock shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the manager
- Assist in periodic audits and stock verification
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification: 10th/12th pass or equivalent; a diploma/certificate in store management is a plus
- Prior experience in a storekeeping, warehouse, or sales support role preferred
- Positive communication skills (for phone-based order taking)
- Physically fit, as the role involves lifting/moving goods
- Honest, organized, and detail-oriented
