Job Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to ensure a safe working environment within the manufacturing facility. The role involves ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, identifying workplace hazards, conducting safety training, investigating incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the plant.
- Identify unsafe conditions and unsafe acts, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct induction and periodic safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, and prepare detailed investigation reports with root cause analysis.
- Maintain statutory safety records, registers, and documentation.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including mock drills for fire, evacuation, and other emergencies.
- Ensure fire protection systems, firefighting equipment, and emergency response equipment are inspected and maintained.
- Coordinate with government authorities during inspections and ensure statutory compliance.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with company safety requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns regularly.
- Recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety and reduce occupational hazards.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports to management.





Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by the appropriate authority.
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and manufacturing safety standards.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in a manufacturing, engineering, steel, or industrial environment.
- Experience in handling contractor safety and statutory compliance is preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
