The Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to own the customer-facing features and workflow domain at Kriyadocs. You will report directly to the VP of Engineering and work closely with the Sr. PM, engineering squads, QA, and customer-facing teams to define, prioritise, and deliver product experiences that create real value for publishers and authors.
This role is for someone who combines strong product instincts with a genuine understanding of AI capabilities - not as a buzzword, but as a practical toolkit for accelerating discovery, improving product decisions, and building smarter features.
What You Will Do
- Own the customer-facing product roadmap - define and prioritise features and workflow improvements that directly impact publisher and author experience on the Kriyadocs platform.
- Drive discovery and requirements - conduct customer interviews, analyse support escalations and usage patterns, and translate insights into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Write and maintain product specifications - produce well-structured PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering squads can execute against without ambiguity.
- Use AI tools to accelerate product work - leverage AI assistants for competitive research, user story generation, requirement synthesis, data analysis, and roadmap prioritisation; you are not afraid to experiment with new tools to work faster and smarter.
- Collaborate with engineering squads - work closely with Squad Leads and engineers throughout the delivery cycle; participate in sprint planning, review demos, and provide fast, explicit feedback.
- Define and track product metrics - own success metrics for features in your domain; use data to evaluate outcomes and inform prioritisation decisions.
- Engage with customers and support - work with the support and implementation teams to understand real customer pain points; feed insights back into the roadmap continuously.
- Identify AI-native product opportunities - proactively identify where AI capabilities can meaningfully improve publisher and author workflows on the platform; work with R&D; to validate and prioritise these opportunities.
What We Are Looking For
- 4 - 6 years of product management experience in a SaaS or technology product environment.
- Solid customer empathy - you are energised by talking to customers, understanding their workflows, and translating messy real-world problems into clean product solutions.
- Practical AI fluency - you actively use AI tools in your day-to-day work (ChatGPT, Claude, Notion AI, or similar) for research, writing, analysis, and prioritisation; you understand what LLMs can and cannot do.
- Clear, structured written communication - your PRDs and user stories are unambiguous; engineers can build from them without needing three follow-up conversations.
- Data-driven decision making - you are comfortable defining metrics, pulling basic data, and using evidence to support or challenge product decisions.
- Strong collaboration skills - you work well with engineers, designers, and support teams; you influence without authority and build trust across functions.
- Comfort with complexity - scholarly publishing workflows are detailed and domain-specific; you are willing to learn the domain deeply and bring that knowledge into product decisions.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in scholarly publishing, academic content management, or document workflow platforms.
- Experience working on AI-powered product features - you have shipped something that uses LLMs or ML in a meaningful way.
- Familiarity with JATS XML, publishing metadata standards, or content delivery workflows.
- Experience working in a small, high-ownership product team where you wore multiple hats.
