The Injection Molding Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring injection molding machines to produce plastic parts that meet quality, safety, and production standards. This role involves machine operation, quality inspection, minor troubleshooting, and adherence to safety protocols in a rapid-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor injection molding machines throughout production runs
- Load raw materials (resins, pellets, additives) into hoppers as per specifications
- Set and adjust machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) under guidance or per work instructions
- Inspect molded parts for defects (flash, short shots, warping, discoloration, sink marks) using visual and dimensional checks
- Perform first-piece and in-process quality checks; document results
- Remove parts from molds,



trim excess material (deflash/degate), and package finished products
- Perform routine machine maintenance (cleaning, lubrication) and report malfunctions promptly
- Change molds and perform basic mold maintenance as needed
- Maintain accurate production logs, downtime records, and scrap/rejection reports
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines (LOTO, PPE usage)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (5S practices)
- Collaborate with quality control, maintenance, and supervisors to resolve issues
- Meet daily production targets and cycle time goals
