Role overview

Our client builds interactive video and e-learning specifically for medical device manufacturers. We are expanding our network of trusted freelance builders and are looking for a skilled Articulate Storyline developer to build Storyline files for us on an ad-hoc basis.

This is a build-only role. We supply everything the module needs: the video content, the graphics, the script and the structure. Your job is to build it expertly in Storyline, assembling the slides and scenes, wiring up the interactivity, creating the quizzes and interactive video, and handing a clean, working file back to us for approval before we publish it to our server.

In short: we bring the content and the design; you bring deep Storyline building skill. We are looking for someone who really understands how Storyline works under the hood, not just where the buttons are.

How the engagement works

- Freelance and ad-hoc: This is not a fixed monthly role. We add you to our freelance bench and reach out when we have files to build.
- Notice-based: We aim to give you at least one week's notice before a build begins, and we agree a turnaround for each project up front.
- Remote: You work from your own setup, in your own hours, to the deadlines we agree.

What we provide vs. what we need from you

We provide

- All video content, already produced.
- All graphics and visual assets.
- The script, structure and any storyboard for the module, plus our brand/template where relevant.

You provide

- The Storyline build itself: assembling the supplied assets into a complete, working, interactive file.
- A tidy, well-organised .story file handed back to us for approval, ready for us to review, adjust if needed, and upload.
- Your own computer, a legitimate licence for Articulate Storyline 360, and a reliable internet connection.

Essential Storyline skills

This is the core of the role, so please read it closely when assessing candidates. A strong builder should be fluent in all of the following.

Core Storyline authoring

- Confident, current, hands-on experience in Articulate Storyline 360.
- Story View and project structure: building and organising scenes and slides, and understanding how slides and scenes link and flow together into a complete course.
- The timeline: sequencing and syncing objects, audio, animations and video so everything appears and plays at the right moment.




- Slide layers: using layers to build interactivity, reveal and hide content, and manage feedback and states.
- Triggers: the engine of Storyline interactivity, covering actions on click, on hover, when the timeline starts or ends, on state change, and so on.
- Variables (text, number and true/false): capturing and reusing learner input, personalising content, and driving on-screen logic.
- Conditions: building if/then logic on triggers, including and/or conditions, for branching and adaptive behaviour.
- States: default, hover, visited, selected, disabled and custom states for buttons and objects.
- Interactive objects: buttons, hotspots, markers, sliders and dials.
- Motion paths and animations, used cleanly and purposefully.

Interactive video

Interactive video is central to what we do, so real strength here matters.

- Importing supplied video and syncing it accurately on the timeline.
- Layering interactivity over video: pausing at cue points, clickable overlays and hotspots, and branching choices that respond to the learner.
- Managing video playback: controls, seekbar behaviour, and pause/resume logic.
- Adding captions or subtitles to video where required.

Quizzes and assessments

- Building question slides: multiple choice, multiple response, fill-in-the-blank, matching, sequence, hotspot and drag-and-drop.
- Freeform questions: turning custom objects and interactions into graded questions (e.g. drag-and-drop, pick one / pick many).
- Question banks: creating banks, drawing questions from them, and randomising or limiting how many are drawn.
- Results slides: scoring, pass/fail thresholds, and combining multiple result slides where a course has several assessments.
- Feedback layers, and retry / review-quiz behaviour.

Structure, navigation and how files connect

- A clear understanding of how a course fits together end to end, including scenes, branching, menus and the navigation between them, and how to build so the pieces join up logically.




- Building and customising navigation: course menus, custom next/previous logic, and gating or locking navigation until conditions are met.
- Understanding how separate modules and Storyline files sit within a wider programme (for example a series of linked modules delivered through an LMS) and building each one consistently so they work together.
- Reusing and importing content cleanly: copying scenes and slides between Storyline files, and importing from PowerPoint or other projects without breaking triggers or formatting.

Quality, accessibility and file hygiene

- Accessibility: alt text, logical focus and tab order, closed captions, and building to accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) when a project requires it.
- Precise, pixel-accurate building that faithfully follows the supplied content, graphics and brand or template.
- Tidy file management: consistent naming, organised assets and slides, and clean files that are easy for us to review, edit and upload.
- Cross-browser and cross-device testing before submitting.

Desirable (nice to have)

- Experience with Review 360 / Articulate 360 for feedback and approval cycles.
- Comfort building from storyboards and working to a defined design system.
- JavaScript triggers in Storyline for advanced interactions.
- Light image or audio tidying of supplied assets (not design work).
- Familiarity with common LMS platforms and how content is hosted.
- Rise 360 experience.
- Experience with translation / localisation workflows (text import and export).

Ways of working

- Strong written and spoken English, as you'll be working with our English team on a regular basis.
- Reliable and responsive. This is notice-based work, so we need someone who confirms availability quickly and delivers to agreed deadlines.
- High attention to detail, and comfortable taking feedback through one or more approval rounds.
- Able to work independently from a brief and a set of supplied assets.
- Discreet and professional with client and confidential content.

Pay: ₹200.00 - ₹500.00 per hour
