Job Description – In-Process Quality Engineer

Industry: Agriculture Implements Manufacturing
Department: Quality Assurance (QA)
Location: Manufacturing Plant
Reporting To: Quality Manager / Plant Head

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced In-Process Quality Engineer to ensure product quality during all stages of manufacturing of agricultural implements. The candidate will monitor manufacturing processes, identify defects, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with quality standards to achieve zero-defect production.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct in-process quality inspections during fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, painting, and final assembly.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Perform first-piece approval before production starts.
- Monitor critical process parameters and maintain quality records.
- Identify quality issues and coordinate with Production, PPC, R&D;, and Maintenance teams for corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis using 7 QC Tools, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and implement CAPA.
- Ensure implementation of Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Verify dimensional inspection using measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Gauge
- Thread Gauge
- Surface Plate
- Inspect welding quality as per WPS and visual inspection standards.
- Monitor paint quality parameters such as DFT, adhesion, gloss, and finish.
- Ensure process capability and control through regular audits.
- Support PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans,



and Quality Documentation.
- Prepare daily in-process quality reports and rejection analysis.
- Reduce rejection, rework, customer complaints, and process defects.
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement projects.
- Train shop-floor operators on quality standards and inspection methods.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering.

Experience

- 3–8 years of experience in Agriculture Implements Manufacturing, Automotive, Farm Equipment, Heavy Engineering, or Fabrication Industry.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
