Job Title: Patent Associate - Patent Prosecution & International Business Development

Location: Mohali, Sector 70 (Onsite)

Primary Objective

To ensure smooth end-to-end execution of IP matters, timely client communication, quality control, team coordination, and achievement of operational KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

1. IP Operations Management

- Monitor all ongoing patent, trademark, copyright, design, and GI matters.
- Ensure statutory deadlines are never missed.
- Allocate work among patent associates and paralegals.
- Track progress of every case from onboarding to grant/registration.

2. Client Relationship Management

- Conduct client meetings for project updates.
- Understand client requirements before assigning work.
- Handle client escalations.
- Improve client satisfaction and retention.

3. Team Management

- Supervise patent associates, trainees, and support staff.
- Conduct weekly review meetings.
- Evaluate team performance.
- Identify training needs.
- Ensure productivity targets are met.

4. Quality Control

- Review documents before submission.
- Check formatting and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with Patent Office requirements.
- Coordinate with the IP Lead for technical reviews.

5. Docketing & Compliance

- Monitor deadlines.
- Ensure filing acknowledgements are maintained.
- Maintain docketing accuracy.
- Generate weekly status reports.

6. Revenue & Billing Coordination

- Track pending invoices.
- Coordinate with Accounts for billing.




- Monitor realization against completed work.
- Identify pending payments.

7. Business Development Support

- Support proposal preparation.
- Prepare quotations.
- Coordinate with the sales team regarding technical queries.
- Participate in client presentations where required.

8. Process Improvement

- Develop and improve SOPs.
- Automate repetitive workflows.
- Improve turnaround time.
- Reduce errors and rework.

9. Reporting

Prepare weekly/monthly reports covering:

- Recent enquiries
- New filings
- Office actions
- Hearings
- Grants
- Revenue generated
- Pending invoices
- Team productivity
- Client feedback

10. Vendor & External Coordination

- Coordinate with foreign associates.
- Coordinate with patent illustrators.
- Liaise with translators.
- Follow up with government authorities when required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Strong experience in IP Operations Management.
- Proven expertise in Client Relationship Management.
- Experience in Team Management and mentoring IP professionals.
- Hands-on knowledge of Patent Docketing and Compliance Management.
- Business Development and client acquisition experience in domestic and international markets.
- Experience in Revenue Tracking and Billing Coordination with the Accounts/Finance team.

Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
