Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Purchase Manager to lead procurement operations across our manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring uninterrupted procurement to support production requirements. This is a high-impact leadership role best suited for professionals with strong experience in the polymer or specialty chemicals industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement of raw materials, polymers, chemicals, packaging materials, consumables, and engineering items.
- Develop strategic sourcing plans to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage domestic and international suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, annual contracts, and payment conditions.
- Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives.
- Monitor raw material market trends and procurement risks.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, and Logistics for uninterrupted material availability.
- Maintain optimum inventory while reducing carrying costs.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ISO documentation, and audit requirements.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team while driving continuous process improvements.
Preferred Candidate
- Candidates residing in Mumbai Western Suburbs will be preferred.
- Willing to work at Malad, Mumbai.
Education
- Degree or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of Procurement/Purchase experience.
Mandatory Industry Experience
- Polymer Industry / Chemical Industry (Mandatory)
