Job Description

Sri Krishnadevaraya Telugu Bhasha Nilayam, a prestigious literary institution established in 1901, invites volunteers to participate in a digital preservation initiative focused on rare Telugu books, periodicals, and historical collections.

This is a volunteer opportunity designed for individuals who love books, libraries, knowledge sharing, and digital heritage preservation.

Volunteers will contribute to:

1. Digitization of rare books and library collections
2. Creation and enrichment of book metadata
3. Wikidata content development and enhancement
4. Blog writing and content creation related to books and literary heritage
5. Supporting open knowledge and digital preservation projects

Key Responsibilities

1.



Scan and organize book information using mobile devices or computers
2. Create structured metadata for books and publications
3. Contribute bibliographic data to Wikidata
4. Assist with content verification and digital documentation
5. Create blogs and resource pages based on library collections
6. Participate in training sessions and collaborative activities

Training & Support

1. Free training on AI-assisted digitization tools
2. Hands-on guidance for metadata creation and Wikidata contributions
3. Weekly learning sessions conducted every Saturday at 11:00 AM

Recognition

This is not a paid position.

A Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to volunteers who successfully complete project milestones, including:

1. Uploading and documenting up to 300 books
2. Metadata creation and enrichment
3. Blog and content development activities
