About the role
Job Summary
The Product Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that product quality specifications are in compliance with corporate and customer standards. This includes supporting the implementation of QA/QC policies, conducting inspections, and assisting in vendor evaluations. This job profile is intended for support staff that follows established procedures and works under close supervision.

Business Unit: Sulzer Turbo Services, Houston, Inc.
Department: MFG
Reports to: Manufacturing Drafting / QC Manager
Shift: Day Shift and Occasional Weekends

Position Summary
Provide inspection support to the quality control department.

Responsibilities
Inspecting new parts with a wide range of metrology equipment (Micrometers, CMM, ATOS blue light scanning, etc.)
Operating quality control hardware and software programs.




Evaluating inspection results per manufacturing/repair drawings.
Returning rejected parts to appropriate shop members.
Providing feedback to improve department processes.
Support the drafting department with instructions as needed.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Have exposure to precision hand tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, etc.)
Have been exposed to, or willing to learn digital equipment like CMM
Make logical decisions and provide inspection feedback to the machinists
Be proactive and solution oriented
Be familiar with CAD and component drawings
Be familiar with GDT per ASME Y14.5M-2009.
Have clear communication, both written and oral.
Be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
