Role Description The Dean, School of Law, is a full time, on-site leadership position based in the Pune Division, responsible for academic, administrative, and strategic management of the law school. The role involves overseeing curriculum design and review, ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance, and promoting high-quality teaching, research, and student outcomes. The Dean will lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, and performance evaluation, while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and ethically grounded academic culture. Daily responsibilities include supervising academic programs, managing budgets and resources, engaging with industry and professional bodies, and supporting student development activities such as moot courts, internships, and legal aid initiatives.



The Dean will also represent the School of Law within the university and externally, building partnerships that strengthen the school's reputation and impact.
Qualifications

- Advanced academic qualifications in Law (LL.M. required; Ph.D. in Law strongly preferred) and a strong record of teaching and research in legal education.
- Experience in academic leadership, such as Head of Department, Associate Dean, or similar role, with proven ability to manage programs, teams, and resources effectively.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, academic governance, and quality assurance aligned with national regulatory bodies and accreditation standards.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, policy formulation, and institutional development, with the ability to drive innovation and growth in a law school setting.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to ethical practice, inclusivity, and learner-centered education.
- Experience in building industry, bar council, judiciary, or legal firm partnerships, and facilitating internships, placements, and professional development opportunities.
- Evidence of scholarly publications, participation in conferences, legal research projects, or consultancy assignments will be considered an added advantage.
- Familiarity with contemporary legal education trends, experiential learning methods, and use of technology in teaching and administration.
