What Youll Be Doing (position summary):

The QE Consultant for Payments is responsible for leading the quality assurance and control functions for the wire payments and commercial payments hub platform. This role ensures robust, secure, and compliant payment processing solutions by overseeing test planning, execution, automation, and compliance with regulatory and security standards. The incumbent collaborates with product, development, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions supporting business objectives.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):

- Develop and implement QA/QC strategies, standards, and best practices for payments hub and wire payment platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA leads, analysts, and automation engineers to achieve quality goals.
- Oversee the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and automated) for all payment initiatives, features, and integrations.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Drive the adoption and enhancement of test automation frameworks for API and UI testing.
- Continuously improve test coverage, efficiency, and reliability through automation and process optimization.
- Ensure all testing activities adhere to regulatory and security requirements,



including validation of payment workflows for compliance with local and international standards (e.g., RTR, SWIFT ISO 20022).
- Monitor, track, and report on defects, issues, and test results. Collaborate with development and product teams to triage and resolve defects.
- Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and team productivity.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in payments and QA.
- Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the business units priorities and CIBCs overall goals.
- Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.
- Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.
- Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBCs mission, vision, and values.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

- Collaborate with product, development, and operations teams to ensure end-to-end quality and compliance of payment solutions.
- Interact with internal stakeholders, including business analysts, product owners, and technology teams, to gather requirements and provide QA expertise.
- Work closely with external vendors and partners as required for payment platform integrations, compliance, and testing.
- Coordinate with compliance, risk, and information security teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and security standards.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

- Responsible for delivering complex work packages independently and ensuring timely completion of assigned deliverables.
- Provides advisory and support services to QA and business partners regarding application defects and enhancements.
- Contributes to the achievement of business unit goals through advanced technical expertise and solution delivery.

Experience: 5+ years of experience

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

Must Have Skills:

- 7+ years of QA experience in banking, preferably in payments and wire modernization with focus on automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI), API validation, and domain expertise in ISO 20022/SWIFT messaging.
- Solid knowledge of SWIFT CBPR+, or legacy SWIFT MT, MX and MT-to-MX coexistence.
- Familiarity with JIRA, ALM and Hands-on experience with API automation, SQL as well as UI automation tools like Selenium.
- Design, prepare, and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts for functional, integration, system, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
- ISO 20022 Validation: Validate payment messages (pacs.008, pacs.009, pacs.004, camt) for content, mapping, transformation, and routing.
- Test inbound and outbound wire payment flows across various processing systems and interfaces. Test repair, reject, return, cancellation, and investigation scenarios.
- Work with payment hubs, middleware, and message transformation layers (e.g., SWIFT Alliance Message Hub - AMH).
- Defect Management: Collaborate with developers and BSA to identify, document, track, and retest defects
- Experience with wire payments, payments hub, banking, or financial services platforms.
- Robust knowledge of payment standards (e.g., SWIFT) and regulatory compliance.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, ALM, JIRA).
- Expertise in payment domain processes and compliance standards (e.g., RTR, Swift ISO 20022).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Implementation of AI in QE.
