JUNIOR LEGAL COUNSEL
As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will provide comprehensive legal support across the business by managing commercial contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating legal risks. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to support retail, wholesale, and e-commerce operations while overseeing contract lifecycle management, corporate governance activities, and statutory compliance. This role is critical in enabling the business to operate efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with legal and corporate standards.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES ARE
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts for omnichannel retail/wholesale business.
- Handle end-to-end contract lifecycle: approvals, execution, renewals, amendments, and closure.
- Maintain ALM/CLM tools, contract trackers, repositories, and renewal calendars.
- Track vendor obligations, invoices, payment milestones, and contract-related payments.
- Coordinate with internal functions/departments/external vendors/ consultants
- Support retail, e-commerce, consumer, advertising, and vendor compliance requirements.
- Assist with company secretarial work,
statutory records, Board documentation, and regulatory filings/reporting.
- Identify and escalate legal/compliance risks and coordinate with external counsel where required.
- Assist in license & registration and retail compliances.
- Manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide timely legal support and ensure effective execution of business initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) is required; a Master's degree (LL.M.) will be an advantage.
- Minimum 2-3 years of Legal experience in the consumer products or retail industry.
- Candidates must have solid drafting, administrative, organizational and research skills. You should be familiar with key legal principles and the ability to grasp and interpret legal documents; Ecommerce exposure is an added advantage.
- You are detailed oriented, pro-active, dynamic and very well organized with a capacity to adapt to a fast-moving environment. Your strong planning skills allow you to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities. You have strong communication skills which allow you to build strong relationships within a team.
