Your Role

Our Property & Casualty (P&C;) Reinsurance Operations team is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Reinsurance Technical Accounting Specialist to join our Mumbai office. In this role, you will manage reinsurance accounting transactions, ensure the timely processing of statements of account, maintain accurate financial records, and provide key support to underwriting teams across the Asia-Pacific region.

You will work closely with underwriters, finance colleagues, cedents, brokers, and internal business stakeholders to ensure premium and claims transactions are processed accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory and tax requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Manage the review and processing of P&C; reinsurance premium and claims statements of account, ensuring completeness, accurate recording and compliance with contractual requirements
- Work closely with technical accounting team based in Cologne
- Reconcile account balances and investigate discrepancies with brokers, cedents, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor outstanding statements of account and proactively follow up with underwriting teams, brokers, and business unit leaders to identify and resolve late or missing accounts
- Prepare regular reports on outstanding accounts, processing backlogs, and reconciliations status




- Coordinate with underwriting teams to ensure timely booking of premium, commissions, claims, and other contractual adjustments
- Handle India GST/VAT and indirect tax matters related to reinsurance transactions, working closely with the Finance and Tax teams to ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations as required
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to regional and international projects and initiatives

Your Profile

- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline
- 3-8 years of experience in reinsurance technical accounting, insurance operations, or financial accounting
- Property & Casualty (P&C;) reinsurance accounting experience is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with reinsurance accounting activities, including statements of account, premium and claims accounting, commissions, cash settlements, and reinsurance contract administration
- Knowledge of India GST/VAT requirements applicable to (re)insurance transactions is desirable
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience using accounting or reinsurance administration systems
- Good command of English, both spoken and written
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and reconciliation skills with robust attention to detail
