Purpose
The CEEW’s sustainable water programme informs policy-making for the
sustainable development of water resources and their effective management
through research in the areas of water security under a changing climate,
circular economy in used water management and water bodies rejuvenation, policy
coherence in water-energy-food sectors, and water accounting-based planning.
CEEW seeks to hire a Research Intern who has a sound understanding of
rainfall analysis and a basic understanding of risk assessment. The intern will
mainly have to undertake rainfall analysis from gridded datasets, review
relevant national-level policies and programmes, and other forms of national
and international literature on climate change and water resources management.
Candidates having an educational background in water resources and GIS in their
related degree are encouraged to apply.
Job
duties and accountabilities
Research:
● Have a basic understanding of risk assessment
● Support in statistical rainfall analysis from
gridded datasets
● Support in data cleaning and sorting whenever
and wherever required
● Support systematic review of literature and
referencing
● Support in making maps using visual
representation tools
● Any other work assigned
Project/Programme Assistance:
● Assist with project and programme
implementation, including preparing presentations,
factsheets, and other communication materials.
● Assist effective outreach of research outputs
through coordination with the outreach team
and engagement with a broader network of
stakeholders and concerned policymakers.
● As required, assist senior team members in
important meetings and sessions, such as
preparing notes and conducting follow-ups
Selection
Criteria
Qualifications and work experience:
● Master’s degree (completed or pursuing) in water resources, geographical information systems (GIS) or a related
field.
Key Skills
● GIS and remote sensing skills
● Rainfall trend and deviation analysis
● Should have strong research skills to support a systematic review of the literature
● Ability to write in a manner that
can summarise and communicate the insights/findings
● Good presentation skills
● Coding skills (optional)
Personality:
● Willingness to learn new
