Job Description Officer - EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety)

A) General Information

Division / Department: Vapi Plant

Reporting To: Manager - EHS / Plant Manager

Position: Officer - EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety)

Location: Plot No. 801/20, 789/4 & 789/4(GS), GIDC III Phase, Vapi, Dist. Valsad, Gujarat

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or related field.

Work Experience: 5-10 Years

Age Group: 25-32 Years

Preferred Industry: Chemical Manufacturing / Oil Processing Industry

B) Key Job Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with EHS policies, procedures and statutory requirements.

Conduct routine safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions.

Assist in hazard identification and risk assessment activities.

Monitor the proper use of PPE by employees and contractors.

Maintain EHS records, reports, permits and documentation.

Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations.

Follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Assist in conducting safety induction and toolbox talks.

Monitor waste disposal, pollution control and environmental practices.





Conduct fire extinguisher, emergency equipment and safety system inspections.

Coordinate emergency drills and evacuation activities.

Ensure safety signages and emergency equipment are properly maintained.

Coordinate with production, maintenance and other departments on safety matters.

Report safety observations and non-conformities to the reporting manager.

Support compliance during internal and external audits.

Promote safe working practices and employee safety awareness.

Perform any other EHS-related duties assigned by management.

C) Knowledge & Skills Required

Knowledge of Factory Safety Rules and EHS regulations.

Basic understanding of chemical handling and hazardous materials.

Knowledge of Fire & Safety equipment.

Familiarity with risk assessment and incident reporting.

Good documentation and record-keeping skills.

Basic knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 will be preferred.

Positive communication and coordination skills.

Ability to conduct workplace inspections.

Computer knowledge (MS Office).

Team player with positive attitude and safety mindset.
