Role & responsibilities

- Operate and maintain HT/LT distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, capacitor banks and DG sets.
- Maintain motors, VFDs, soft starters, drives, crushers, screens, conveyor systems, pumps and compressors.
- Attend electrical breakdowns during the shift, restore supply safely and record root causes.
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules, insulation resistance testing, relay testing and earthing checks.
- Enforce electrical safety work permits, LOTO, earthing before work, shock-proof PPE and the permit-to-work system.
- Maintain mine illumination, area lighting and emergency lighting systems.
- Maintain statutory electrical registers, test reports and records under the Mines Act, CEA Regulations and DGMS circulars.
- Supervise electricians, technicians and contractor manpower deployed in the shift.

Preferred candidate profile

- Valid Electrical Supervisor’s Certificate of Competency is essential.
- Experience with HT systems up to 33 kV in a mine, plant or heavy industry workplace.
- Exposure to PLC, SCADA and instrumentation systems will be an advantage.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts and respond to emergency call-outs.
