Role & responsibilities

The role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, reconciliations, and audit support. The position ensures accurate maintenance of books of accounts, timely closure of financial activities, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective support to internal and external audits.

The role also supports budgeting, cash flow monitoring, project cost tracking, and coordination with banks, consultants, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, expense accounting, and related entries.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in line with accounting standards and company policies.
- Support payroll accounting, salary-related accounting entries, and monthly payroll reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, customer reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Ensure proper classification of expenses, provisions, accruals, and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and supporting documentation for all financial transactions.

2. Budgeting, Cost Tracking & Cash Flow Support

- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.




- Support variance analysis by comparing actual expenses against approved budgets.
- Track project expenses and maintain accurate cost records.
- Monitor cash flow, fund requirements, and working capital needs.
- Coordinate with banks for routine financial transactions, documentation, and account-related activities.
- Support management with cost reports, budget utilisation reports, and expense analysis.
- Highlight deviations, unusual expenses, or cost control concerns to the Finance Manager.

3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

- Manage GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory compliance activities.
- Support timely preparation and filing of statutory returns.
- Maintain tax records, challans, returns, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
- Ensure correct deduction, payment, and reporting of TDS.
- Assist in GST reconciliations, input tax credit tracking, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants, auditors, and statutory authorities on tax and compliance-related matters.
- Ensure finance records are maintained in compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

4. Audit & Compliance Support

- Support statutory, internal, tax, and other audits by providing required schedules, reconciliations, reports, and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards,



internal financial controls, and company policies.
- Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor queries in a timely manner.
- Track audit observations and support closure of corrective action points.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit readiness and compliance review.
- Identify process gaps and support improvements in finance controls and reporting processes.

5. Stakeholder Coordination & Process Support

- Coordinate with internal departments for accounting, reporting, compliance, and documentation requirements.
- Liaise with banks, consultants, auditors, vendors, and other external stakeholders as required.
- Support ERP data accuracy and ensure finance entries are updated correctly.
- Assist in improving accounting processes, reporting formats, and documentation practices.
- Provide timely support to the Finance Manager for management reporting and decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.Com / M.Com / MBA in Finance or related discipline.
- 6 to 12 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, taxation, statutory compliance, reporting, and audit support.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, statutory compliance, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Experience in ERP systems and solid working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Good analytical, coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage timelines, maintain accuracy, and handle multiple finance activities independently.

Preferred candidate profile

- Hands-on experience or working knowledge of SAP would be an added advantage.
